Performing Who? Kristeen Von hagen that is.

Hello, Bonjour, Text me, BBM, Whatsapp? Right. So on November 10, 2010 @ Bourbon Street West, we have one GREAT performer that will support our great cause; her name, Kristeen Von Hagen. Originally from Victoria in British Columbia, Kristeen Von Hagen has been hailed as one of the Top 30 Power Women in Canada by Elle Magazine (YAY!). During her comedian career, she has also won 3 Canadian Comedy Awards: Best Female Stand-up, Best Comedic Play and Best writing for a TV special. Kristeen Von Hagen is known for her crude humour, mostly about human genitals (having participated as a headline performer for The Penis Puppetry), and quoting; “I walk out, welcome people to the show, explain that I don’t have a penis but I’m there to get them excited about the penises. I have way more penis jokes now than is really necessary“. Enough said; and come check for yourself on November 10, 2010 @ Bourbon Street West in the West Island. Who Makes You Laugh Montreal?

Montreal and Comedy are two words that have always gone together. Montreal is a city who loves to laugh; this is evident by the Just for laughs festival held each year in Montreal. The Montreal festival is the largest of its kind in the whole world! Montreal also does a great job bringing in current big name comedians like Dane Cook as well as some old timers like Steve Martin and Martin Short.

So the real question is who makes you laugh? Is it an old timer like Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, or Steve Martin? Or are you into the modern day comedian Dane Cook, Sugar Sammy and Seth Rogan? For some of you it might be the real classics like Don Rickles and George Carlin.

Basically, as you know from the previous blog; Comedy for a Cause will be held at the Bourbon West, and we are in charge of the promotion for this magnificent event that can literally save lives. How can you be part of this amazingly innovative occasion you ask? Well, this is so simple a child could do it. This is the part where YOU take over the creative and promotional side of this event by deciding what you would like to have as the poster for the event.

November 10th, we’re raising money for a local charity through an amazing comedy show!
All proceeds of this event will go to bringing Seasonal Warmth and Joy too many of the unprivileged families in our community.

And the big Question…
” What should I wear?”
The Comedy With a Cause team is here to solve this problem for you and rid you of the burden leaving you with no excuse not to come out and enjoy the night! Lucky for us Bourbon West is a laid back bar with a cool and trendy atmosphere.

What to wear? EASY!
Girls: Jeans or leggings, a cute top and converse or flats. No need for heels but they are welcome!
Guys: Same goes for you jeans and a tee!

Come in whatever you’re comfortable in but remember there’s going to be tons of people so dress to impress! You might meet a new special someone!!

Comedy for a Cause is BACK!

Listen up boys and girls!! It’s that time of the year again! It’s Comedy for a Cause time!! Join us Wednesday, November 10th for some laughs and giggles, and help an amazing cause while doing it! We will be teaming up with Bourbon Street West for the 4th YEAR IN A ROW to raise money for underprivileged families at Christmas. Every person deserves special treatment from the man with the white beard on Christmas Day. We do not want to leave anybody out, so come on down to Bourbon Street West for some good times, and help us make this happen!

 Your headliner on this night will be Kristeen Von Hagen; in her stand up career, she has won 3 Canadian Comedy Awards. She’s been all over the globe, has appeared on many TV shows and has participated in her fair share of gala’s (Just for Laughs included).

 So bring your mom, dad, aunt, sister, boyfriend, best friend… bring EVERYONE!

You’ll be having a blast and helping out a good cause all at the same time!!!
